Improvements
Among the improvements to the park so far have been:

Park benches painted (removed 9/00 - to be replaced)

Water fountain reactivated

Reseeding/aerating the grass (unfortunately prior to a very dry summer)

Asphalt area near the swings removed and replanted with grass

Vehicle gate added at NW entrance (to replace chain)

Pedestrian gate added at NW entrance

Barrels on a more frequent emptying schedule

Sand placed under the swings to provide a softer surface

Vegetation removal in SE corner.

Permission for a small bulletin board to keep citizens apprised of Wellington

One of the major items to be done is the selection of a children's play structure
to replace the slide. Committees have been formed
to select new play equipment and beautify the park. See elsewhere on
the site for meeting notices. We plan to install a new play structure in
September of 2000.
