If you wish to report some maintenance item such as a broken swing, broken gate, etc., call the Parks and Recreation Department at 552-7120. You should speak with Mr. David Mandatori or Robert DeRubeis. Mr .Robert DeRubeis is our main contact at Parks and Recreation in regard to Wellington Park. In September 1999, there was some spray paint vandalism on the basketball court. The perpetrator even left their footprint on the site. The police were notified and promised to keep a better eye on the park. The Parks and Recreation Department has painted over the spray paint with green paint. The footprint is still there to be used as evidence against the heinous villain. The first bulletin board we set up was torn down and broken up by vandals. Please remember that this is a volunteer effort and the bulletin board is privately donated.
The park is officially closed after dark. If you see unusual activity
there, feel free to report it to the police. If you witness any vandalism,
spraypainting, graffiti, fires, drinking, or drug use in the park, please
report it immediately to the police at 911. If it is not an emergency situation,
you can call the police non-emergency number at 552-7240. They will take
prompt action.
