Playground

If anyone would like to help with cement at Wellington Park this afternoon (Monday) at 4 PM, they would be most welcome. We have 3 people and 2 wheelbarrows (from Phil Corbett and Len Saunders) so far. We could use another wheelbarrow perhaps and another few folks. It should not take a very long time (perhaps 45 minutes) if the truck comes on time. Please phone Ted at 969-6222 this afternoon if you can come at 4 PM.

It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that the structure or the swing not be disturbed while the concrete is setting over the next day. No one should be on or even near the structure. Please do not go inside the timber area around the play structure. Likewise keep all pets out of the area. If you see anyone on the structure please remind them to leave the area or call the Newton Police. We will remind the police to do extra patrols in the park area this evening (Monday).

Tomorrow (Tuesday), the structure itself hopefully will be completed by our GameTime supervisor, Peter Budesh. He will be doing final assembly on the tube slide and adding in the Race Car panel. We expect a gravel delivery tomorrow afternoon around 2 PM. Between 4 and 7 PM we really could use some volunteers with rakes, shovels, and wheel barrows or garden carts to spread the 20 tons of stone that we may be receiving. This will serve as drainage under the Fibar. We also hope to then cover the gravel with a polyester felt layer to separate the Fibar and gravel.

Thanks again to all volunteers for so much effort in helping Wellington Park to look good for the new millennium!
